Now I’m destined to spend my time missing you

3 11 2009

You would think that being English and doing a shitload of driving on a pretty damn regular basis that I would be used to driving in rain. You would, however, be wrong. Because fuck I hate it. Hate hate hate. It’s my least favourite weather to drive in. And when it’s lashing down so hard I can’t see past the end of my bonnet and I’m crawling along the M54 at like 45mph and there’s been an accident as well… then I really dislike it.
It does make the llama poutygrowly.

Luckily, I’d seen the weather before leaving the house and so left extra early so I wasn’t late.

Things soon picked up when I got to work however. I got back my results from the make-up tests I did yesterday and got fantastic marks again *pumps fist in the air*
Then, I spent a while practising measured, unmeasured, assessed and PPC billing calculations. oh AND learned how to do forecast bill calculations. Spent a couple of hours answering payment query letters and talking to real live actual customers on the phone answering real live actual queries – complete with a grumpy old man but I managed to calm him down and got him to do a meter reading! Then updated the meter reading on the system AND did the maths to tell him what his bill was going to be \o/
*does happy dance of glee*

Then, in the afternoon, we refreshed moving people out of properties, making The Occupier responsibility for a property and voiding an account. After that, we moved on to different types of move in and move out, as well as moving a person from one property to another.

Was another exhausting but incredibly fulfilling day. I are a pleased llama, leaving you with

You Would Be a Down to Earth Celebrity

You aren’t easily impressed or star struck, and if you were to become famous, it wouldn’t change your own opinion about yourself.
You’d still treat everyone as you always have, and more importantly, you wouldn’t expect to be treated any differently.

You’d be friendly to your fans and as accessible as possible. After all, they’re the ones who make you famous.
You’d be a celebrity in the mold of Kate Winslet, Renee Zellweger, John Mayer, and Ashton Kutcher.

and promising to update this place more than once a week!

Must have been a Monday…

5 10 2009

Gah, I swear I haven’t stopped all day.

I started my morning with a nice 9am appointment at the unemployment office to sign on
Of course, I’d been a bad procrastinating kind of llama and hadn’t done my paperwork yesterday. So I had to scrawl it all in like half an hour before I went.
Did I learn my lesson about procrastination? No, of course I didn’t!

Then I went down to the post office only to find that my normally empty quiet little post office had a queue out the freaking door. Luckily, it was a fast moving queue and I was done in like 10 minutes.

Headed home, poked at ebay, bid on a couple artworks – one of a kitten asleep in a guitar, one of a tiger and one of a fairy – then got a load more stuff listed, plus took photos of even more bits and bobs to put up.

After lunch, my plan was to just fill out the paperwork, then have a nice relaxing afternoon curled up with a book or a movie.
Naturally, it wasn’t to be!
Turned out I had to fill out something like 6 different forms, sign my life in blood and they wanted proof of address for the last three years. Cue rifling through boxes of unsorted paperwork, but emerging victorious.

THEN they wanted a copy of my birth certificate, my FULL birth certificate. Yeah, that one was a problme because I don’t have a full birth certificate. I was registered at the hospital, not the registry office. Rush out to Wellington to the registry office, only to find out that they can’t issue me one because I wasn’t born in Telford & Wrekin, I was born in Devon & Exeter.
I’ve got the form, sent off for a birth certificate.

And sent my paperwork with the mini certificate, with a note explaining that I’ve applied for the full one and, if they require it, I can forward the full one when I receive it.

Tomorrow, I am GOING to have a relaxing day. All that’s on the agenda is to drive my mum to the hospital to the audiology clinic, where hopefully she will get a hearing aid!

What is your morning beverage of choice?
If I had my way, I’d have a nice cold cherry coke or Diet peps – i don’t drink tea or coffee so its pretty much my main source of sugar/caffeine.
Course, that’s not exactly very healthy so I generally have either a glass of orange juice or a glass of milk
