Mrphgle

A week before Concon and what happens? I get sick. I’ve had a stinking cold for about a week now and it’s been pinging my asthma since the weekend. Monday I had to call in work sick because I had a temperature, every cell in my body ached etc. Drove in to work yesterday, then drove home again before I even started, went straight down the doctors. Breathing was working so long as I wasn’t doing anything else at the same time, such as y’know, walking or talking.

Saw Dr Harper (no, not Owen) who diagnosed me with an Upper Respiratory Tract Infection. He also gave me many drugs. I have antibiotics for the infection (which are starting to kick in). I have steroids for my asthma (which are starting to kick in) and I’m on mega-doses of my inhalers to keep them calm from the spasming of the airwaves.
Mrph.

I’m glad, however, I’m sick this week and not next. Because that would suck uber donkey balls. This week has so far been spent in bed reading the Percy Jackson series of books. Monchichi told me about them and I went straight to the internets, found and downloaded e-books. I’ve already read the first 3 and and half way through the 4th
So. Much. Love.

Now, however, I’ve finished doing today’s downloading so will be curling up to watch White Collar, NCIS, NCIS LA and Melrose Place before continuing to watch The Forgotten.

Plan M (Where Hardison Dies)

8 11 2009

Yeah, so much for that remember to post more than once a week thing… epic fail on my behalf.

I… just.. have nothing to talk about.
Or at least nothing that I feel is even worth posting about.
I get up, I go to work, I train all day, I come home utterly exhausted and pass out.

I could post about how I spent the day learning about the Deceased Procedure but would anyone really want to read about what we do with water accounts when someone’s died and how the rules change for probate and rental properties and all about executors of estates?
No, I didn’t think so somehow!

And then, when I do get in from working having spent the last 4 weeks, 8 hours a day, 5 days a week purely training… I’m just exhausted – mentally and physically.
I eat, then curl up either on the couch or in bed, and… well.. ok if I’m honest my brain has been eaten alive by Farmville, Vampire Wars and Mafia Wars on Facebook… SO DAMN ADDICTIVE!

I am however blogging for a reason – and it’s not about the fact I have nothing to say, I promise!
Because I am one incredibly happy fangirling llama right now WHO IS GOING TO THE LEVERAGE CONVENTION IN PORTLAND IN MARCH
(why yes, I am a bit excited about this!)

Everything has been falling in place over the last day or so. I booked my plane fare last Saturday, I have a hotel room in the Marriot with a group of friends.
And then yesterday all the the convention pass bits all fell into place – although my god I have never known plans to change so many freaking times in one day:
The day started with mum giving me the money for a Platinum pass *flails*
Then, I realised that for the price of one platinum, I could get two gold and get my girlfriend Nicole a ticket as well.
Then, over the course of the day, mum kept giving me more money, so there was a diamond pass each.
By the end of the day, Nicole’s mum is paying a platinum and my mum is paying two platinum so me, her AND her boyfriend David are all gonna be platinum*
As are our friends Susan and Amara
Plus Lisa and Sarah are gonna be there too
OMG ITS GONNA BE THE MOST FANTASTIC WEEKEND EVER AND I CAN’T WAIT AND I’VE NOT STOP FLAILING OR GRINNING OR BOUNCING AND SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!

So now, all I have to do is manage to get those platinum passes when they go on sale this evening. Or, in the early hours of the morning as it is for me!

*takes a deep breath*
So, its possible I might be a little excited
LMFAO

*yes my girlfriend has a boyfriend – it’s a polyamory thing that… I’ve not quite got my head round or figured quite out for myself yet so please don’t ask me to explain or clarify because I’m still a little confused myself!

Why am I watching Coronation Street

19 10 2009

Monday started off being quite nasty to me really – it was trying to harsh my squee. Although I tried really hard not to let it!

It pretty much started as it meant to go on… petrol station was closed, then i got stuck in traffic on the motorway leading me to be almost 5 minutes late. On the first day of week 2… not a good start!

Got in, got slowest computer in the world booted up and start off Monday morning’s training with a test on everything we learned last week: charging zones, property types, alternative supplies, alternative drainage, alternative billing, measured and unmeasured calculations, the account screen, the property screen, the financial details screen and data capture.
Then we had to calculate some unmeasured bills
Took me three goes to get the bills calculated but I got there \o/ and got 100%.

Also, I was the only person to get 100%. Everyone else got less than 60% – and you had to get 75% to pass the first week!
So, they’re all having this workshop next Tuesday to go back over all the basics… and I’m getting Tuesday afternoon off. So I might be heading to do Southampton to see MC Lars & Last Letter Read, we’ll see what happens.

After the test, we went on to data capture and data protection – it was actually all very interesting.

Throw in a fire-alarm-test and standing freezing in the car park for half hour… oh well, at least it wasn’t raining, right?

After that we continued reviewing data protection, then looked at the credit history screen and the payment plan screens. Very excitingly (!!) we got to log onto the live system, rather than the training system, to see a current payment plan in action which made a lot more sense than looking at in on the training screen.

The afternoon we spent most of the time looking at contact management, point of contact and other notes on the system.

Tomorrow we’re supposed to be starting on payment plans, which considering that’s a lot of what the work will entail, I’m REALLY looking forward to it.

This was not the post I’d intended on writing… It was going to be a fairly rambling introspective post like I said this morning talking about the last four months, mental health, work, love and Nicole but it seems it’s not ready to come out yet

Welcome To My Life

3 10 2009

hi, I’m Cassie, I’m 27 years young. And if you know me in real life you might want to stop reading right about… NOW

Still here?
cool!

The first thing you should know about me is that I’m a Slasher.
And a geek.
And damn proud of both.

Fandom and my friends are the most important things in my life. I work to live, not live to work. I live for gigs, for doing the things that make me happy. Happiness is the one of the most important things any person can have.

I love, amongst other things, slash fanfiction, music, gigs, reading, shopping, pizza, chocolate, tattoos, piercings, tarot, angels, faeries, cherries, polka dots, plaid, the internet, my friends, Star Wars, Good Charlotte, Beat Union, Supernatural, Christian Kane, Steve Carlson, Riley Smith, Bon Jovi, Goo Goo Dolls, Torchwood, Doctor Who, Simple Plan, Hilary Duff, MC Lars… it’s a fairly endless list haha

My journal is NOT friends only
I openly blog about… pretty much any/everything… my friends, my family, my job, my sex life, dreams, wishes, fantasies… i post fanfiction and fangirling and rambling and poetry and articles and essays and memes and lots of pictures… like i said, its a little bit of everything rolled into one.
Just like me, really!

so yeah, that’s me!
*waves*
